I’m sorry for the poor quality of the picture, it was taken in very poor light conditions and I was having to maneuver my body in strange ways so I wasn’t casting a shadow on my foot.

The state of my toe (according to NHS Direct) is the result of a break. I’ve only ever broken a bone once before and that was my leg when I was around three years old. I’m not sure exactly how I broke it, but I was playing 5-a-side football (soccer for you Americans) with a group of friends on Tuesday evening and my feet were extremely sore throughout, I sucked up the pain and continued. After the game I got home and took off my trainers to find two epic blisters, a cracked toe nail and a bruised toe.
Waking up yesterday morning, I discovered the bruised toe had now become an even more bruised, swollen toe that I couldn’t bend. After speaking to NHS Direct, they told me that it is more than likely broken and the best thing to do is to rest it for 10-14 days. I missed out on my spinning class last night, I’m not going to be able to go out on my bike, hit the gym or go for any runs.
What does everyone else do when they have an injury? Stop exercising all together? Do smaller exercises, not utilising the injured body part? Id love to hear from you.
